Lexie's First Piano Recital

Lexie has been taking piano lessons since November of 2009. Mrs. Terri Thompson has been super patient with Lexie. Lexie likes to tell Mrs. Terri stories during the lesson and if anything she learns reminds her of something else, she wants to share that with Mrs. Terri as well.

Last night, Lexie had her first piano recital. She was super excited. She had a new recital dress and a bottle of water. (Lexie thought that she needed a bottle of water... just like singers have when they perform.) Lexie played "Go Tell Aunt Rhodie," "Ode to Joy," and "Lamb at School."

We were very proud of her and Daddy gave her a red carnation after the recital. Lexie was convinced it was a rose. She didn't care. She loved it. But it didn't take long before she took the ribbon off, the leaves, and half of the stem. Oh well! I guess it's the thought that counts!

Happy Birthday Greg!

I guess it is becoming a little family tradition to take Greg to the creek for his birthday. So this last Monday the girls and I fixed a picnic and chocolate cake and took Daddy to the creek for his 31st birthday. We all had a good time. We even took our newest family member Oreo. Yes, we have a pup. I know, like we needed something else to tend to. But this little puppy has actually helped us out in so many ways. I believe that the girls are outside playing with the puppy more and not inside scattering toys everywhere. Plus, they have gotten over alot of their "dog fear." Well, Mary Ellen is still not so sure about Oreo.

Happy Birthday Daddy/Greg
You are loved very much
You are the best husband and daddy in all the world
We are so blessed to have you in our lives

Molly is Growing

Here's a pic of Molly watching Lexie do her school-work. She likes sitting in her "bumbo" seat, but only for a few minutes.. then she's ready for something else.

Lexie and Leah sing for Red Hatters

Lexie and Leah were asked to sing for the Red Hat Ladies here in Iberia. So we practiced a little and they sang 8 of their favorite songs. In this video they are singing "When the Saints Go Marching In."

Thank you Mum-Mum!

Mary Ellen is going to have her 2nd birthday on Saturday. She's getting so big and learning so much about her little world. Today, she received a package from Mum-Mum filled with lots of Mickey Mouse books and toys and lots of candy. Thanks Mum-Mum!

Noah The Musical

The girls standing in front of the Sight and Sound Theatre in Branson, Missouri
We are such a blessed family. I cannot describe how amazing our God is. He cares for all of the details of our lives. I want to share a story with you of HIS amazing providence. Two years ago, Greg and I attended NOAH THE MUSICAL in Branson, MO while we were at Pastor's Retreat. We loved it and since then we have wanted to take our girls. We knew that the price of tickets though were far from our budget for our whole family! Tickets average about $60 each for this show. Well, anyway... a couple weeks ago a very good friend of mine shared with me that she could get tickets for $10 each!!! Wow!!! We were so excited, yet it was bittersweet news. We knew that even though we could "swing" the $40 for tickets (2 and under is free), we realized that there would still be expenses with gas and meals. We went ahead and purchased the tickets and afterwards beat ourselves up thinking we had made a poor stewardship decision. I know, I'm being very transparent... but this is for God's glory, not mine. On the way down to the show that morning, I prayed for God to provide for our meals and the gas to go to Branson. I thought I knew how God would provide. I was wrong. While we were waiting for the show to start we met two couples from Texas. They were sweet. They thought our girls were just adorable... and rightly so! Anyway... we all went in and got our seats. We soon discovered that our new friends were just a few rows behind us in the theatre. While we were sitting there waiting for the show to start, one of the men walked up behind us and told us he wanted to buy our family dinner that night. At first, I thought he was just joking with the girls. Then he handed me a one-hundred dollar bill. In that moment, I was so humbled. I said "thank you and God bless you." The man walked away and I just started to cry. Folks, let me tell you... God takes care of His children. I love the Lord Jesus with all of my heart and I desire to do His will each and everyday. He hears us and answers our prayers!

Our Trip 2 Olathe, Kansas

Last weekend, our family went to Olathe, Kansas. Our Church was having its Regional Talent Event for the teens in our church. Greg happens to be the District Director for this event. So... the girls and I went with him "to help out." Yea, right! Anyway... the girls enjoyed staying in a hotel and going to Worlds of Fun. Below are some videos and pics of some of the fun they had over the weekend. Enjoy!

Lexie would shout "Cannon Ball" or "Incoming" when she jumped in. And by the way.... those are "life-jacket" suits. Super nice! Worth every penny too!

The girls also enjoyed counting down before they jumped in the pool.

The girls rode every ride in "Camp Snoopy" at Worlds of Fun. They could just walk right on to each ride, no waiting in line. Nice! Mary Ellen did everything that her big sisters did, except for the swings. She was too short. But believe me, she really wanted to and would have if allowed.
